My every so lucky friend Clare, whom I met three years ago when we worked together in CityYear, came to stay in Seoul for a month. Why? Cause the lucky punk is doing a semester overseas so she landed in Seoul after partying on the Nile in Cairo, viewing mountains in Geneva, visiting a garbage town in the slums of India, getting tricked into going to a PingPong show in Thailand and accidentally being given the penthouse to dorm in in Hong Kong. Lucky lucky girl. Check out her Global Semester through St. Olaf university here.
I met up with her to stay at Yonsei University, the Harvard or Yale of South Korea. It is one of the SKY schools. SKY is an acronym for the three most prestigious universities in South Korea: Seoul National University, Korea University, and Yonsei University.
I love when you get together with a friend you haven’t seen in FOREVER and you pick right up where you left off. Plus I once again pigged out at On the Border while catching up over cheese dip and chips and a corona…now that is just perfect.
One thing I did learn about her: She randomly giggles in her sleep. And Clare is the epitome of …well a cute little bunny or something of that nature. Still freaky to wake up to though.
SMALL WORLD!!! that’s my homie Alicia from Carolina
Whoah! That is CRAZY!
