That Night

And so another year has come and gone. The friends and I headed out for some Korean bbq …sooo freaken delicious! I introduced the “Soju Bomb” to some of my friends. What is a soju bomb? It’s a shot of Sprite + a shot of soju topped with beer.

Anywho, we then headed out to the next place. Some cocktail pong (beer pong but with cocktails) occured, where I kicked Jodi’s butt for the second time! WooooOOOoooo! Never happens so I was pretty proud of myself.

Like last year, we counted down to the new year at the park downtown that has a massive Korean traditional bell. You can hear the count down from last year, in Korean and English…cause well, it was pretty anti-climactic this year. Suddenly it was like, hey! it’s new years! … so yeah, weird but the fireworks were pretty.

The fun part was having Patty there to remind me of home, she did the traditional Hispanic thing and brought grapes for us to eat at midnight. 12 grapes for the 12th hour.

The Resolutions

I actually hate making resolutions and pretty much see them as a waste of my time. I never follow them and to me its kinda depressing that a whole group of people make these positive goals and within the month break them. Its like epic failure. Seriously, not being a downer, it’s statistically true. According to a 2007 study by Richard Wisemen from the University of Bristol, nearly 80 percent of people who set New Year’s resolutions fail.

So instead, I aim low haha and so I’ve set some goals for this vacation. Some reasonable goals that I can actually meet, rather than wait a whole year to repeat the goals I failed at the year before. ….. clearly I’m in an AWESOME mood right now haha.

Though the New Year’s celebration is not as big in Korea right now as it is in the States (since the whole Lunar New Year’s is a bigger deal here), we still went out with friends to celebrate in ringing in the New Year. Of course there was karaoke involved but the videos are incriminating and such (aka I don’t want to kill your ears) so we will leave it as that. Check out the countdown in Korean!
